Question / bug report

I am playing a little catch up here, so sorry if this seems like a bit of a stupid question. Has there been any work to be able to get calibre/drm tools to work on the Win 11 (android compatible) variant of Kindle? As well as any idea where that version stores the books, lol?

I do have an older win pc that I am currently using to convert my books to dox so I can import to Logos, but would love to be able to do all on same pc.

Which version of Calibre are you running?

5.28

Which version of the DeDRM plugin are you running?

7.2.1

If applicable, which version of the Kindle software are you running?

1.11.2

Log output

Paste log output here.

Currently the options for getting Kindle books that can be decrypted are older versions of Kindle for PC/Mac and E-ink Kindles. Some time ago it was possible to decrypt books from Amazon's Android app, but a change to the app broke that method.

I believe the older versions of Kindle for PC still work for Windows 11.

There are newer versions of DeDRM on the release page of this repo. Use 10.0.2 for calibre 5.x or 10.0.3 for calibre 6.x.

Thank you for the information, currently the older version is working for me on my Win 10 pc, although I recognize that may not last much longer, hence my curiosity regarding any progress for the new set up.

As long as it remains working I will continue with it, when that is no longer an option I will try with the newer calibre/plugins.

Thank you again for your time and answer.

Currently the last version of Kindle for PC where the KFX format can be avoided is 1.34 (version 1.31 for Kindle for Mac). The last version of Kindle for PC/Mac where KFX DRM removal is possible is 1.26. The last 2 times that DeDRM was updated to handle the latest KFX DRM, it stopped working the very next day.

Thanks for that info! So far I haven't had an issue. Use mostly to convert Bible study books to dox for Logos software so will not be a happy camper when my study books are forced into non compatible format.
