The problem should not be DRM. Amazon can be really picky about the epubs when you send to Kindle for conversion. I know I've seen some discussion at MobileRead about getting them to work, but I haven't really looked into it myself. I only do the opposite -- convert Kindle to epub and read on my Kobo!
Question / bug report
Hey. I sent a friend of mine a DeDRM'd epub ebook. He was able to add the book to his Amazon Library (via mail), the book is visible/accessable on his Android App, but not on the Kindle eReader (Kindle Paperwhite- one of the latest, was bought around christma). Even the transfer via Calibre does not work because of DRM issues. Is this a common problem since Amazon updated their software/format? Something like an additional "DRM layer" Kindle is using? The book is/was protected via Adobe DRM and works fine in Calibre.
