Task:

We believe there is data to be found at gapminder.org that we can use to describe the homelessness situation in Stockholm.

Document findings in comments below

I had a thorough look at the data available on their website, and there is no data specifically on the homeless in Sweden. There is data on "homeless due to natural disasters" (which is 0 for all years), and data on "extreme poverty" (Poverty headcount ratio at $2.15 a day in Sweden .. i.e people that cannot afford basic necessities like food and shelter).

I have emailed gapminder on if they have any data specifically for homeless people and am waiting on an answer from them.

I've also searched online if there is any data on homeless people, and found that Sweden conducted a survey most recently in 2017. There are some nice statistics reports on this data and detailed data of this.

  1. 2017 data survey report with statistics on homelessness in Sweden
  2. Socialstyrelsen data survey report with statistics on homeless, also in 2017
  3. Research paper with a detailed analysis of the 2017 homelessness data, with a comparison of other Nordic countries' statistics.

(each link has its additional details and/or statistics on the data)
