[ ] Make sure all tools have a maintainer listed, preferably a NMFS contact. A maintainer’s contact info should include a name and email address; for NMFS contacts, it should also include their FMC and Division or Team (as relevant).
[x] Remove any reproducible reports from the FIT.
[x] Include scope as a part of the tool quality checklist.
[ ] Outline a process for determining that a tool is in-scope or not (broad strokes: drawer lead decides, if uncertain, FIT committee discusses and votes)
[ ] During the onboarding process, strongly recommend that the tool have open source code, but allow authors to explain why the tool doesn’t to avoid excluding some cases.
[ ] Discuss the following concern: There is currently no process for reviewing software within NMFS, so the FIT quality standards could become the de facto software review. This could be a ton of work and we may not have the resources for it.
