The "today" AirNow site meta file #129

Currently we use the "today" site meta file (https://s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com//files.airnowtech.org/airnow/today/monitoring_site_locations.dat) to get site metadata. But earlier periods may involve sites not mentioned in this file.

For example, considering hourly data for the month 2019-08, I found two sites were missing from the today (2023-08-30) file (340130003 and 010735003).

Talked to Phil Dickerson about this. Currently, the only way is the conservative way, to read each day's site metadata file (in addition to its data file).

Thinking should add an option to this effect, maybe off by default to preserve the current behavior.
