Try to quit/closing Logitech Daemon (quitting logitech options isn't enough) or possibly uninstalling the logitech options because the two programs conflict, the logitech captures the buttons and prevents Mac Mouse Fix from seeing the mouse's events.
you might also face a problem on button 4 and 5 where it will register only on button release and will prevent you from making gestures with these buttons because Mac Mouse Fix wont be able to tell that the button is held down. and that happens because of the horizontal scrolling feature... the mouse doesn't send button down event and will wait incase a scrolling event happen and then do horizontal scroll which is probably the most annoying and malicious way to design the mouse's internal software ( I don't think you can change that )
I used to have that mouse but I sold it because the magnetic scrolling wheel got too loose got logi M590 instead its cheaper and I am happy with it although I wish it had a better feeling scroll wheel

hi~ @Rorotto, i face the porblem on botton 4 and 5, too. but I don't install any logi option(+), and no logi software running. What else can I do in this case?
(I choose M750L, and I thought that as long as it was not a high-end mouse of LOGI (previously uesd MX Master 3), I would not encounter stange offical driving problems. :(

As far as I know the MX master 3 should work with button 4 and 5 but the thumb button was not programable it just send cmd+tab (I sold mine because the scroll wheel became wobbly)
Maybe should've mentioned before that I tested the m750 as well but couldn't get it to work so I returned it
Its recommended to get a mouse that doesn't have the "horizontal scroll" feature
Moreover its funny that a large corporation like logitech can't make good software
And Its tricky picking a mouse because it feels like theres a trade off between functionality and build quality as result of malicious bad software

Very Thank for your reply.
Recently, choosing the mouse is really troublesome, there is always one between software and hardware that cannot be satisfactory.
Maybe I need to buy M590, too. Or continue to use Trackpad. (But for me, M590 is a bit small, Trackpad will be tired after a long time)
Happily, Check out the logitech m720 triathlon I believe it will work ( I haven't tested ) and its larger than the m590
I don't know what I changed but it is working now

Do you install Logi options(+)? If close "horizontal scroll" by Logi options(+), it will work fine.
But I don't want to install Logi options(+), so I have to change to use other mouse now.😂

That's the silliest thing I've heard. Why don't they just let it work like a 4th and 5th button?
I was fine with uninstalling logi options+ app but still, I won't be able to use those buttons for panning or other useful actions.
I bought this (MX Anywhere 3 for Mac) after using magic mouse for years. Naively thinking it would be "optimized" for mac, not worth it. I guess I'll sell it too. Anyone wants to buy? 😄
@cihadturhan I personally like using cheaper mice not from big brands. The ones from Amazon often have really great build quality and work flawlessly with MMF in my experience.
@noah-nuebling Is there a documented list of mice that "just work" with MMF? I'm looking into getting one and i'd love to find out before buying. This product looks fantastic
@MrSunshyne I would say any mouse that doesn't have proprietary software would work best
Description
The Support for MX Anywhere 3 buttons do not work. The application does not recognise a click when I want to add a custom button.
Rationale
The official Logitech application is not good.
