Logitech G 502 X Plus Thumb Button Not Recognised [bug] #578

Description

Hello,

All other buttons are working well on my G502 X Plus, however no matter what I do I cannot assign the thumb ('Shift') button on my mouse. It recognises button 4, 5, mouse wheel etc. But not the thumb button.

I've tried installing and uninstalling Mac Mouse Fix, running the OEM driver for the mouse in parallel with mac mouse fix and without, and tried both version 2.2.3 and 3.0.0 beta 6, nothing seems to work.

When opening console to log button assignment, all buttons are recognised and provide feedback as follows:

default 10:42:41.744771 0100 Mac Mouse Fix order window: 67 op: 0 relative: 0 related: 0

However when pressing the thumb button there is no log. So Mac Mouse Fix is likely not even recognising it as input.

Steps to reproduce

Context

Mac Mouse Fix Version: 3.0.0 Beta 6 macOS Version: Ventura 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) Mouse Model: Logitech G502 X PLUS LIGHTSPEED Wireless

I've just managed to get it to work via an unconventional method but this should help narrow the issue down.

I installed BetterMouse alongside Mac Mouse Fix. With BetterMouse running in the background, the thumb button (showing as Mouse 6) is working (with no key bindings for it in BetterMouse, so it is just enabling Mac Mouse Fix to receive / 'see' input from the mouse). If I quit BetterMouse, it stops working. I only have the ability to add or modify button 6 with BetterMouse running in the background.
