Hiccups while scrolling #590

Description

When I use the scroll wheel on my mouse, it sometimes scrolls the wrong direction for a short moment either at the beginning or during scrolling.

Context

Mac Mouse Fix Version: 2.2.3 macOS Version: Ventura 13.4 Mouse Model: Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse

Same issue with my Logitech G305. I swear that it was better a few month ago, but for whatever reason it started to acting up. But not sure if a bug in MacMouseFix or just some changed behavior in macOS.

Still happening with MacMouseFix: 3.0.0 and macOS 14.2

Hey guys thanks for reaching out, I actually also have this sometimes.

I remember that this also sometimes happened in MMF 2, and even though I've almost entirely rewritten all the scrolling systems for MMF 3, it still seems to happen sometimes. Also, it seems to happen more with some mice than with others. Both of these things give me the feeling it might be the physical scroll wheel wearing out instead of a software problem. But it might also be a bug in Mac Mouse Fix. I'll try to keep this in mind and see if I can figure something out. But since it's so rare and hard to reproduce, I'm not sure if I can find the reason for this anytime soon.

I found some people on windows are having the same problem: See this MS forums post.

This is another indicator that it's a hardware issue.

Thank you for the update! Wow, disappointed in Microsoft then. I thought they would have quality hardware.
