Describe the bug
Snap version: loads the pictures, but never actually renders the stack
AppImage (tried multiple variants) cannot import files, this crashes it. drag and drop works but it then crashes on save attempt
To Reproduce
attempt to render a stack in the snap version.
attempt to load a file in the app image, or attempt to export a stack after drag and dropping
Expected behavior
render the stack. load file screen to save image

Desktop (please complete the following information):
Manjaro Xfce, Lenovo 330S 12 GB ram (also tried manjaro immutable, as shows in the screen recording)
Manjaro gnome, Lenovo m700 8GB ram

Additional context
I will attempt to build from scratch but not much luck. I have tried jpg, renaming to jpeg, I have tried olympus ORF files and DNG files. I have had 1 successful attempt in the snap version where it actually worked when I threw 8 ORF files at it - this has not worked again when I attempted to repeat the same steps with the same OR different pictures
