@Junguer1 @Jebsta @monomycelium Hey guys! Thanks for your interest. The project is in limbo at the moment. Ultimate Guitar became aware of the workaround of downloading Official tabs, and have since changed a few things. I am still able to download files, but they all now contain — what I like to call — "encryption". It adds a further 20-bytes to each file size and makes them unable to be used outside of the Ultimate Guitar player.

Lesson learnt for me next time: Don't share how to do things until you have what you want. I was aiming to download and share all (to a certain date, of course) the files, but instead made this public and asked for help in downloading files, which resulted in things getting changed… I do however have about 3000 unencrypted "Official" GP files.

@noahmaranesi Hey, thanks for your efforts. if it makes you feel better, I've seen at least 3-4 other sources (a chrome extension, a tamperMonkey script etc) download tabs in the exact same way, so you sharing your code is probably not why UG has closed it...

Anyway, if you happen to find a way around the encryption I would very much appreciate it if you share it. And in the meantime, if you want to upload like your already downloaded files to a google drive, that would be great. I also have a couple hundred files I've downloaded and can upload - if we can't keep downloading, maybe at least we can have a nice archive of those tabs. Would be down for it.

The download endpoint exposed on UG is secured to prevent simple downloads right now; as such, this tool wouldn't work.

Sad day. Hopefully someone will eventually find a workaround. I need me my James Marriott tabs, and this site has been the only one where I could find decent ones.
