cannot successfully load package #44

Hi, I tried downloading and loading redoc from your github and the library won't load. Here is the code i entered and output. Do I have to update all of the packages in order for this to work? I'm just hesitant to do so.

Based on the example you provided above things did install properly. What happens after you run library(redoc).?

You do need updated versions of officer and diffobj, and most of the associated updates flow from those. I just pushed a change that installs these from CRAN rather than GitHub (because their last version were just pushed to CRAN reccently), which should reduce dependency installs slightly. I haven't tested against older versions of other packages - let me know of bugs and I'll see if I need to define minimum versions for the other ones.

Hi, ok you are right, i just needed to start a new R session and library(redoc) worked. however, just trying to create a test document, and having trouble knitting to redoc.

The contents of my Rmd file:

I suspect you have an old pandoc version. Can you show the output of:

rmarkdown::pandoc_version()
rmarkdown::pandoc_exec()
rstudioapi::versionInfo() # if using RStudio
sessioninfo::session_info()

Note that if you wrap these in triple backticks, like so, it makes the output much easier to read:

Yup, you need Pandoc version >= 2.1.2. You're using the Pandoc that's bundled with RStudio. If you update to the latest version RStudio, it will update Pandoc, as well.

Hi - I updated R studio! I just tried to work through the example code:

library(redoc) print(basename(redoc_example_docx()))

> [1] "example.docx"

dedoc(redoc_example_docx())

This generated an example.Rmd file in my directory, cool! Next I would like to test how changes in the word document can be "redoc"ed back into R markdown. So I tried to knit the redoc to get it into word format to edit and test. when I try to knit to redoc, I get the following error:

Error in print.rdocx(docx, output_file) : example.docx+empty_paragraphs should have '.docx' extension. Calls: -> -> print -> print.rdocx Execution halted

I think you need to update the rmarkdown package to >= 1.12. I'll add this as an explicit requirement in the package DESCRIPTION.
