Thanks! Any reason you know to prefer it over org-link-minor-mode? There doesn't seem a comparison in the documentation.

I'd say orglink mode is a slight step ahead of org-link-minor-mode in terms of features. Both reuse code from org for parsing/identifying links but orglink mode also:
orglink-activate-links '(bracket angle plain)
) so you can identify <https://google.com>
alongside plain https://google.com
and bracketed [[https://google.com][google]]
links.orglink-match-anywhere nil
, the default does so in comments but leaves org-links in code as they are (this is useful for bash scripting since [[ ]]
conditions are a pain).orglink-activate-in-modes '(emacs-lisp-mode)
and then enable (global-orglink-mode +1)
and you want have to do any more fiddling to get org links fontified everywhere you want them.If you're interested in the reasoning and motivation for the project I asked tarsius on the discussion tab for the repo. That delves a little more into why it exists and why it hasn't been merged into org-link-minor-mode directly.
An alternative org-link-minor-mode maintained by tarsius.
