[Readme] Consistency improvements

Nothing at all significant here. The README reads very nicely IMO but I thought I'd fix a few inconsistencies

• Text line size, where to start new line in paragraph
• Use of ':' at ends of lines preceding code lines
• Code line size, where to use \
• Some unnecessary words
