I meant to send this as a PR but accidentally pushed it as the gh-pages branch.

It has as much of the stuff from your meeting notes as I felt comfortable messaging. The style is lifted from what @zeke and I did for the Node Forward website. I don't think it lends itself to more content so people should feel free to dramatically alter the style and messaging.

I figured it was best to take what seemed uncontroversial and put it up so that we can start changing the site rather than just talking about everything :)

Cool, thanks @mikeal Time to rally some friends to build it out!

Oh I didn't realize you'd already set up welcome.nodeforward.org, @mikeal! This looks like a great start. We can figure out if we want it to stay here or use hellonode.org from #2 or something different later, no need to bike-shed on that right now.

Has anyone had any feedback on this start on another channel other than here? I'm going to spend some time thinking about this and reading back through the meeting notes this week.

FYI, I'm doing a getting started series of screencasts for npm... some of them might be helpful here.

Here are some of them:

There are about 9 more, but these ones are probably going to go live this week. I'll be adding them to this playlist as they are published.

If they would be useful on this page, please feel free to use them.

The welcome.nodeforward.org site looks a great resource, needs to be promoted a bit more. It is the start of a new site?
