Thoughts on the NodeBots Logo/Mascot/etc

Hey all :-)

So, I'd like to nominate the following logo as the "official" logo for NodeBots:

The little robot was introduced to International NodeBots Day by Julián Duque - it was created by Julien Deveaux, The Noun Project. We'll have to attribute it to him, but I like that it's got personality without any potential copyright issues.

I know that we've been using the (Johnny-Five logo)[https://github.com/rwldrn/johnny-five/raw/master/assets/sgier-johnny-five.png] as our de-facto logo since we started, but I think it's time NodeBots as a whole branched out a little. Don't get me wrong - I love Johnny-Five and will evangelize the hell out of it. I just think that j5 is its own thing and deserves to have its own identity, separate from the broader NodeBots community.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the matter :-)

I went and purchased the image so we don't have to give attribution (I'm not opposed but the chances of attributing it everywhere we use it are slim.) Do we have an SVG or larger png of the yellow square?

Huge :+1: ...conceptually.

Feedback: The bot seems a bit too small. It is proportionally much smaller than the JS in the JS logo.

I like the circle but the square says JS where we don't otherwise.

Not the animated gif? I think an animated logo would be progressive. And those are indeed robots.

In my opinion remove the nodebots text. Let the nodebot stand alone so it can break it down (like a TC-39 meeting).

Love the square so much. Hexagon says "node". Square says "JS". Both are cool.

Here's the one we used for nodebots day Las Vegas by @suziam. I really liked it a lot. :)

I'm a fan of the little green nodebot hexagon but I like this square one as the "official logo". It speaks to the JS and JS Conf roots, and isn't too dissimilar to the J5 logo we're using now. All the source svg's will be available and we can leave every chapter to use "Nodey the nodebot" however they like.

I redid the square with

• The right js logo colors
• The top of the antenna at the same height as the top of the js - previously I let the antenna stick up and measured to the top of the head.
• squarer margins on the bottom and right
• I also am a complete amateur with inkscape and svg - someone can/will do it better please go ahead. Eyebrows and a smile would make me happy.

Anyway - I purpose we use this one. :+1:
