Was just asked about hosting for 2017. Are we a go?

Yep, Norfolk is in for July 29. We're pretty happy with the kits we put together last year if anyone new wants a starting place.

We're considering doing it in Seattle. Actually, a friend from Lithuania was visiting and half-talked me into running a kids' event for the third year running, though I swore not to this year. Trying to find a project we can do with 60 kids with a $30ish kit cost.

We're doing it again in Phoenix. Haven't decided on just which bots yet, but likely gonna do some webbluetooth-johnny5 this year.

My 5 year old just asked at dinner tonight when robot day would come, great timing finding this issue just opened! She has been pretty excited the last two years to help build robots, hopefully she will be able to assist even more this year.

So consider this additional interest from Houston!

hi, everyone! I'm a begginner and find out about this great event and I really want to organize it in my city (Salvador, Bahia-BR), but I have a problem with the main date. Is it possible to others cities organize it on July 30th?

Hi @geisasantos There is no requirement that your event be on the same day as everyone else. Venue conflicts, competing events or just plain convenience are all valid reasons to find another day. Looking forward to hearing more about your event.

Awesome, @dtex ! I'll be a mentor at Django Girls on saturday and many of the girls that participate at Makers meetups will be there too. So I'm planning to organize it on Sunday.
