I'd like to walk away with enough knowledge and equipment to remotely control steppers through telemetry.
Here are a couple of examples both appear to be using easyDriver: Arduino http://www.sunzhongkui.me/arduino-drives-stepper-motor-via-easydriver-on-cnc/ Rasberry Pi: http://www.sundh.com/blog/2014/02/control-stepper-motors-with-raspberry-pi-and-node-js/
The telemetry aspect would be a challenge:
Maybe XBEE Telemetry? or JeeLink? https://code.google.com/p/ardupilot/wiki/TelemetryPage http://www.instructables.com/id/Radio-Telemetry-for-a-Model-Rocket/step1/Hardware/
Would you be able to provide the driver, stepper arduino/Pi and a working example of the breadboard ++ telemetry???
Would this be Tinkerer or RoboHacker rates?
The Tinkerer and RoboHacker tickets are for set kits that we've already ordered the parts for.
But if you want to organise your own parts, we're happy to help you where we can with this project on the day, although I'm not sure if anyone of us have ever tried controlling steppers though telemetry, and I'm also not sure how that well it would work with Johnny-Five. What I'd recommend that you do is sign up for a Basic Ticket, and order the parts you need separately for your stepper project from http://tronixlabs.com/
TronixLabs have kindly offered to provide a 10% discount code for all attendees, which @garrows will be sending out to everyone who has signed up and I will DM to you on twitter
