This talk is an experience feedback of what has been done at Canal+ Overseas in a little more than 4 months.
We developed, from scratch, the Video-On-Demand catalog for connected devices from all over the world (French caribbean, New Caledonia, Africa, La Réunion, etc.) with a first release only 6 weeks after starting the product.
I'll be focusing on what's available in the Node.js ecosystem as well as in the CouchDB database and how we can compose them to build pretty awesome stuff in no time.
The main takeaway from this talk should be to understand that most of what you need to build awesome products is only one npm search away.
Of course the storytelling part is quite natural. I intent to present the challenges we had and their solutions in the order they appeared.
