Now that JSConf US is coming back, and are in their planning stages it might be a good US option.
JSConf EU for Europe unless we want to try a smaller conference?
Then one in S. America potentially Argentina or Brazil and one in Asia somewhere?
Nobody saying anything about JS Conf "Africa" π’π
Is that happening? Please tell me more!

@codeekage we are open to all potential locations! If you know of any Node / JavaScript conferences or organizations in Africa that we could partner with itβs absolutely an option!
None for now, but I planned on having one this year... Needed full support from nodejs and js to help pull it through. We could partner and I will love to contribute 100%.
A go ahead from nodetogether will mean a lot and will automatically kick of the planning stage for JS Conf Africa 2018
@MylesBorins @rachelnicole Would you like to partner with NodeSchool portharcourtcity chapter to Host JS Conf Africa?
@codeekage we don't have anything to do with JSConf family of conferences. We're just an organization that helps teach underrepresented people Node.js for a day long workshop that's free for attendees.
What we look for is an organization to partner with to be able to run the event.
Partnering with the Port Harcourt chapter of Node School would absolutely be something we'd be interested in for a future date, though we are still in the planning period.
@rachelnicole Noted! it will be super awesome to host and partner with the "Rachel White" and "node CC" for an awesome event: The Creative Part of Node.js in Africa.
As budget is a real concern, and so is time, let's talk whittle the potential cities/events down to 4 for NodeTogether this year. If we are able to expand further into the year, awesome!
Please keep in mind when suggesting cities/events to partner with:
one event/city per quarter of the year(budget/resource reasons)
events that are able to help support the partnership, such as donated venue space and helping get more new-to-node programmers from underrepresented groups are extra great
please see #1 for general 2018 planning
