Trap empty NODE_VERSION, e.g. if fetching index.tab fails.

btw, when making changes to snapcraft.yml.sh, you'll need to merge and then cherry-pick that commit to the head of each of the active branches that are in use by cron and push back to this repo; otherwise it'll only be active for the nodeedge / nightly snap
