I was thinking, if anyone wanted to take a stab at it, we should customize our logo a bit. It'd be nice to get a depiction of the space needle in the background (as long as we don't run into copyright issues) and some color.

I've been thinking about this lately... anyone know any designers?

Walking home fro a mariners game I noticed a lot of the architecture around Seattle and text fonts and I noticed quite a bit of the styles walking through downtown and along the docks that many were similar... so just to brain storm a little:

Style influences of seattle

• Victorian
• Neoclassical
• Modernism(Precisionism influence)
• Art Deco

Possible things to incorporate into logo

• Space Needle
• Public Market Center
• Smith Tower
• Seattle tower
• Seattle Great Wheel ? London uses one and it is relatively new(2012)
• Colman Building
• Franklin High School (maybe use it as "NodeSchool")
• The "Cathedral of Science" debut during the worlds fair (the PacSci arch thingys)
• King Street station

Fonts

• Mostra (victrola)
• other Art Deco Fonts (I have a personal affinity for the fonts where the bar on the "A" "K" "R" is lower than higher, ITC Anna is nice because of the left over strokes, but You don't see that as much in seattle, other Influence are in Uptown Espresso's logo font, Anthony's Fish Bar, victrola as mentioned earlier, monorail texts (they are more modernized though) a good collection can be found here http://www.fontscape.com/explore?7SW
