beta usability - joining ports - version as at Project Update #14 #222

Symptoms: Using Getting started: ... "You can either tap one port and then the other, or drag from one port to the other. If you are zoomed out, you can open the node context menu by tap-and-hold or secondary click. Then you can tap one of the the expanded port names to start a connection." I found that clicking on the Repeat out port started a line, but I was unable to connect it to the Alert in port Workaround: I tried click-and-hold on Repeat, which opened an expanded view of the ports. I then clicked in the circle for the out port, and dragged a line to the Alert in port: success. Context: Firefox 29, Java 7 plugin present but not activated. I'd just registered with FlowHub, no repository yet. ( noflo-beta-usability-link I couldn't seem to start without logging in.)

When you were unable to connect it to the Alert in port did it look like the wire was above your pointer? I've noticed that bug, and think I have an idea what causes it.

end of wire did not seem to be exactly at pointer

Clicking on the port (instead of clicking where the wire is on the port) makes the connection. At least when I've noticed it.

But this is a bug to be fixed.

I have fixed the bug that allowed the-graph to scroll, throwing off pointer and wire end.

To really make it better will depend on https://github.com/the-grid/the-graph/issues/67
