"Restart Firefox" keeps appearing after choosing "Match the system language" in Kubuntu Linux #14

When I choose "Match the system language", the message "Restart Firefox to apply the language switch to the existent windows" keeps appearing in the Languages pane (in the Add-ons Manager), even after restarting Firefox several times. (I use Firefox 46.0)

What is your operating system?

noureddin commented 8 years ago

Gnu/Linux Kubuntu 14.04

I will investigate it. Are you using the Firefox build installed from the Kubuntu repositories or the Linux binary downloaded from mozilla.org?

noureddin commented 8 years ago

I am using the repositories build.

Confirmed. Thanks for the report. It will take me some time to figure the underlying cause, though.

A proper workaround for whatever the Kubuntu build is doing (@noureddin, are you still seeing it?) requires important changes to how my language service works. I had planned to do it someday, but it will not be soon.

OK, no problem!

I thought at first it's because something in Firefox itself, not the (K)Ubuntu build.

I've tried it now on the latest Firefox (49.0) from Ubuntu's repositories, and the message still shows.
