Add .gitattributes file #393

As discussed in #345, here the PR with the configured .gitattributes file.

Hi @henri-egger, unfortunately we had some commit problems last week. Therefor this PR contains numerous superfluous commits. Could you please clean this PR up / open a new PR such that it contains just the necessary changes? Sry for the hassle.

@gappc No problem, now this PR will add only the .gitattributes file and mention it in the dep5 file, everything else is identical.
