Even the main Mastodon frontend seems to kick you over to the "static" webapp when you click the "edit profile" button. I wonder if we should just do the same?
As a Pinafore user, I don't really like switching to a different client to accomplish a task, be it Mastodon or Pleroma, so this feature would be very nice to have within Pinafore.
Currently, Pleroma is not letting users add/modify their various fields, so this could be another advantage for Pleroma users.
I also want this feature because I want to use Pinafore as a frontend for GoToSocial, basically like embedding pinafore into another app. ( Or embedding the server app into pinafore? Basically just smash them together and hope for the best  )
I have been curious about svelte and considering spending some energy getting into it and learning it, so perhaps I might attempt this on a fork?
I was honestly surprised to see this functionality missing from Pinafore. I also am using Pinafore with GoToSocial which doesn't provide an interface itself and have to use hyperspaceapp in order to set my avatar and update my display name and description.
