Chromecast Black Screen - DO NOT UPGRADE PLEX PAST 1.15 #73

Hi,

I've been working on doing system updates and updated plex to version 1.17(Sept 13th release). I discovered I could NO LONGER view games on Lazyman, even though the plugin settings were able to be changed, I could not click on it to view games and playback. If I went to my history, the server said "You look lost. That page doesn't exist." It seems Plex has removed the ability for plugins to playback video and thus the only option is to revert to a previous version of plex. If anyone needs 1.15 for linux, please let me know. I tested the first build of 1.16 and found that the plugin was still unable to be accessed.

Now for the second issue:

I have a Chromecast(Gen 1) and a Chromecast Ultra(Gen 2? maybe 3? not sure). Neither of which are able to play any videos cast from the Plex Android app nor the web client(from the lazyman plugin-normal media libraries are fine). I have to have a laptop and using the HTTP(NOT HTTPS) version of the web server, I have to cast the tab using google chrome, NOT the built in web player. The built in web player and secure(HTTPS) version of plex give me a plethora of errors.

Secure site(https://app.plex.tv/desktop) -> plugins not available at all(web app)

Insecure site(http://app.plex.tv/desktop?secure=0) -> plugins not available at all(web app)

Secure site(internal ip address->https://x.x.x.x:32400) -> chromecast stays at black buffering screen(web app)

Insecure site(internal ip address->http://x.x.x.x:32400)-> plex pops up message from web player "Casting to Chromecast requires a secure connection to the plex web app. Please visit https://ap.plex.tv/desktop and try again."(web app)

Android:

Casting -> black buffer screen on chromecast

There seems to be some issues with getting lazyman and plex to play nice with chromecast. Everything from my media folders(podcasts, youtube downloads, etc...) seem to be fine and are able to be chromecast without issues.

Can anyone figure out how the hell to get this plugin to be chromecasted from Android or the native web app without issues?

P.S. THANK YOU for this amazing plugin! It works wonderfully when chromecast isn't involved!
