Steps to Reproduce

query something that takes more than 30 seconds to preprocess.

Expected Behavior

no modal dialogs show up.

GPT4All version: 3.0.0
Operating System: Ubuntu Linux
Chat model used (if applicable): all models

Is there a chance this is related to #2519?

If not, it might be OS-specific. The popup is definitely not part of GPT4All itself. That is, maybe the system has determined that the application itself is hanging.
