As of v3.1, there is no Default Model specified by name, by name that is, anywhere on the interface.
The user is only asked to select a model as the default, or leave the default as it is, which for all intents and purposes is unknown at that point - on the Settings->Application page.
Even more flabbergasting is the indication, on the Chats page, that the default model is a certain model, when in fact the user has not specified a model as the default -
however, this seems to be done every time a model is selected in the "Default model" combobox -
a procedure that is Default as well, that no OK and Cancel buttons that would confirm or deny the change were deemed necessary (like anywhere else in the program)
The OK and Cancel buttons are usually (>=198x) placed on a dialog to kindly let the user either accept or renounce the changes. Nowhere to be seen in this program. Old-fashioned does not mean useless.
Suggestion:
place a label somewhere near this setting that would tell the user what the Application Default is.
