[Suggestion]: Give a real use for Command Block Wooden Tools #1590

Open GearsawStudios opened 11 months ago

Description of feature request

Each command block tool variant has its own use. Stone is the mining tool with low attack damage (the mining is outclassed by gold except on obsidian tier blocks ironically,) Iron is slow and strong, Gold is fast, Diamond is the generalist and Wood is the generalist but uncool. What reason would one get a command block wooden tool? It's outclassed by the rest of the tools completely in every capacity. You'd have to be deranged if you went out of your way to get a wooden tool for real usage. It's legitimately as valuable as a summer ant. They're less valuable than the book that made it. It does almost nothing, it serves practically zero purpose. Wooden tools moment

Give the tools a unique function. Maybe it gives regeneration or other effects when held, incentivizing them as the defensive option. Give them area attacks, extra reach, anything to make them more valuable. As it stands, there is absolutely no reason to get them.

I don't think they really should do anything. The only use they have is that they don't burn and people wouldn't be making wooden cmnd tools anyway unless for the memes

All of them don't burn.

TaintedBlockmObile commented 11 months ago

True but still. I don't see giving the most useless tools an actual use since people already wouldn't purposely use them

GrandmaPork commented 11 months ago

They should be used as an infinite furnace fuel source

The wooden tools' main purpose are to show your status. When everybody sees you wielding one of the finest smithed wooden command block swords, they will know you dont rely on diamond's attack speed, iron's damage or stone's digging speed. You already possess the skills and knowledge required to destroy the command block. And when your time comes and you draw your last breath, people will recall how far you have come in life with your wooden command block weapon: all the monsters you've slain, all horrors you've braved through, all adventures you've victoriously emerged from, all without any cheap advantages: your intelligence was enough to get you the upper-hand in every challenge. Asking for the wooden tools to get their own unique little strength is shameful, it reflects how reliant someone is on abnormal power to get the job done, instead of unlocking their true potential within.

I really like that lol

They're intended to be kind of pointless, but @Thefuzz1234555 was the one who made them so I'll assign this issue to them

wooden command block tools could possibly give slightly more xp from slain monsters and mined ores. that's a possibility.

I forgot I can close and reopen this to create notifications without making a new issue.

Concept: Wooden tools have increased damage against sickened mobs. Refighting the storm? Bring some wooden tools to deal with the things faster. If possible, also make mining speed affected by this so bowels excavation can be done with wooden tools for tougher blocks. Perhaps make it very effective against Wither Storm heads too.

nonamecrackers2 commented 4 months ago

Please don't, you make my to do list think this issue is completed which it's not

Interesting concept though. I'm still not sure what we could possibly do but I appreciate the ideas.

Considering they are meant to be pointless and its kind of comical, it should have a stupid and comical buff. Here's an idea: any mob attacked with it is given the levitation effect with an amplifier of 255 for 5 seconds sending them into the sky, requiring them to clutch to survive.

this isn't actually a bad idea.

Guys, the wooden command block hoe already has a use, it does barely any damage, but it has an insanely high attack speed reminiscent of pre-1.8 combat.

Thefuzz1234555 commented 3 months ago

The idea of making them explode when put into a furnace and giving a book back is still an idea lol, but I do plan on giving them a much needed buff
