7 months ago I do have to agree it is something that is requested a lot. My only reason for not doing it is I'm not sure how to implement it in a vanilla-ish way that would make sense. I'll leave this open for further contemplation however.

7 months ago i mean the pull factor is very interesting. I can already think of 10 things you could make with that, especially if it could be interacted with using redstone.

Idea dump (Assume I want dyable beams for all of them)
Minecart with Tractor Beam, angle is changed with right clicking between several different states. Allows lighthouses to be made too.
Redstone component block that fires a tractor beam for X blocks, doesn't widen up over the distance. Good for pulling and elevators.
New armor stand like mob projects a tractor beam, likely has the most customizability. Potentially have size variants based on how much it's been clicked (1 for small, 2 for medium, 3 for large, reset)

Make a block that is like a chunk of the witherstorm's head with the eye and it emits the tractor beam in the direction it was placed (it can be all four directions like a dispenser) and then the block can be named "Eye of the Storm"

Description of feature request
It's no secret that people want a form of tractor beams that can be used outside of the Wither Storm. Whether it be through a head, a tool, even a block. However, it's evident that such an idea is quite popular. Whether it be through any of these, a new method altogether or even commands, it'd make sense that such a well coded feature would be used in another manner. Even if said tractor beams are purely visual, that's still a massive thing that could be used for builders. Whether it be reenactments of fights with the Wither Storm, stage lights, spotlights or even the massive glaring light from a Lighthouse, it'd be incredibly useful to have. Although one could argue it's not very Minecraft like, we already have this in the form of beacons to an extent. If one would expand the concept further, potentially the beams could be dyed.
My point being that any method would work and is a frequently suggested topic, even a visual only tractor beam Minecart would suffice. Making a Wither Storm themed Lighthouse would work fantastically with this, it'd be best to expand creativity with the tools presented within the mod, not wave it in front of the player only to not give them an opportunity to not use it.
