bump. The only way to remove the background image right now is to refresh the browser window, which is pointless and time-consuming.
bump x2. Strange that this is still the case from what I can tell. Workaround for the moment is creating a transparent PNG and setting that as the background image.
On the other hand, the code hasn't been touched since last spring.
Maybe the author has lost interest and moved on to other projects?
Speaking as an open source author myself, at least I have accumulated too many repos that I have no interest to work on any more. There's always the next new shiny idea to pursue :)
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The Detect From Image feature loads the image into the background. The background cannot be cleared. When designing a pose for a new scene, a background image is not needed; it only makes it harder to see what you're doing when you edit the pose.
Even Reset Scene does not clear it.
Describe the solution you'd like
Three parts:
Describe alternatives you've considered Simply never load the image into the background. May break workflow, if some users prefer to have the image as reference.
The suggested setting, if disabled, could remove the background image after a short timeout, or after the user either moves/rotates the camera, or starts editing the pose. After these actions the pose no longer corresponds to the image anyway.
What is good in the current behavior is that it visually shows how well the pose was detected.
