GPS over WLAN #5

Is there a way to send GPS data from the 705 to the Pi over WLAN as a time source for Chrony?

There's no CIV command to query GPS time, so it's not possible. Also you'd get better accuracy with NTP because of the CIV transmission delays.

It was a pipe dream. While using NTP is fine if you have network coverage out in the field not so much. Maybe Icom can update the 705 to share GPS over BT in the future? Thanks for the work on getting what you have working.

@nonoo is the CIV command 23 00 for GPS data?

That's the "my position" setting, and not the GPS location, however, I can't remember if I've tried this. Also note that you'll get better accuracy with NTP because of the CIV transmission delays.
