Pushing a commit when there are changes in the remote causes issues with the version control panel #14

Expected Behavior

Pushing a commit when there are changes in the remote should show a message that you need to pull changes before pushing, and the version control panel should be set to a state where you can pull.

Current Behavior

Version control panel is stuck in the pull state
