mate-panel disappears when starting fusilli #4

Closed noodlylight closed 9 years ago

noodlylight commented 10 years ago

Upon starting fusilli, mate-panel disappears.

Sometimes just the taskbar, sometimes just the upper bar (Applications,Places,System), sometimes both.

If clicked on, it may reappear again (sometimes it takes a lot of effort)

The bug also exists in compiz-0.8.9

I'm seeing this also with compiz-0.88, but not if i start compiz directly with the session

Yeah, its an Old issue. I don't recall the explanation I was given for it some time back. I usually right-click a bare spot of a panel and they all re-appear. @NiceandGently out of curiosity, are you using a GTK3 build?

raveit65 commented 10 years ago

@hekel not with compiz on baremetal

raveit65 commented 9 years ago

@noodlylight i found out that enable 'force syncronisation between X and GLX' from workarounds fix the issue with compiz-0.88, same for fusilli if i switch from compiz to fusilli.

@NiceandGently Good! Sounds like a start...

I haven't noticed this bug for a while, even with plugin workarounds disabled.

I think that the pull request by NiceandGently that added glXWaitX fixed it.
