By the time I started this, OpenVR didn't exist yet. Nowadays it would be a great way of getting multiple devices to work with libgdx, which was the idea behind this extension. However, since the Oculus didn't really work on my old laptop I wasn't able to keep working on this and later I didn't have enough time anymore. Nowadays I'm not even using libgdx anymore and kind of lost track of this. Might be that someone else already did something like this for libgdx.
Have you considered using OpenVR as the integration layer?
