fcitx does not work in enlightenment17 on Archlinux #657

I've recently installed fcitx. Pleased to see various config tools included and 
finally a decent wiki. However, fcitx does not trigger upon ctrl+space. 

I use startx -> enlightenment17. No other e17 keybindings block ctrl+space. 
I've exported fcitx environment variables in .xinitrc, also tried .bashrc as 
well, but that does not help.

Older versions of fcitx worked on Arch without much trouble I may say.

fcitx version is 4.2.6.1-4

Have you installed the whole fcitx-im group?
And are you able to see fcitx selected in the menu as in the following[1] 
screenshots?
