SAX parser: "unsupported name ASCII" #259

PROBLEM: When checking, epubcheck-3.0 reports
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException ... unsupported name ASCII

METHOD:

java -jar epubcheck-3.0.jar <file>.epub

RESULT:

the message above.

EXPECTED:

total success! flawless summary!

PLATFORM:

Intel Celeron(?) 3 GHz + 2 GBytes RAM
Debian Linux 2.6.26-2-686
java version "1.5.0"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.3.2

System requirement for epubcheck is Java 1.6 or above (because of some 
underlaying third-party tools and libs).
Please upgrade your Java version and try again.
