I'm still just getting familiar with the Mood Meter and its applications, I'm at the stage where I'm not even convinced if it's not pseudo/unreliable science.
But if I am not mistaken your suggestion is an essential part of how people seem to apply the Mood Meter in practice.
The idea is when you figure out how you feel, you have two choices, you can start working on something that's appropriate for your current mental state or you attempt to "regulate your emotions" to get into the desired mental state.
Btw, I'm really astonished this got 5 stars already, I did not even share this anywhere.
Perhaps worth considering in this case, if one should perhaps take a break from their device - go for a walk, rest, exercise, make some music or art, and pursue an interaction with something / others outside and away from technology.
