@norahess let's add notes about the 'Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science' SACNAS to this issue thread

@sarahtanja After scouring some pages about SACNAs and rereading previous emails, I believe the priority date has passed for any submissions for SACNAs. "Undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs can present their deadline 31 Mar 5 pm PT." And in order to have our trip funded to attend SACNAs, there was a priority date given by Jose, "submit by Tue 14 Mar so that the Dean’s Office can be prepared to fund your trip if your abstract is selected". However, there are two sections for applications, one for a spring deadline submission and one for a summer submission, for which the submission date is May 31-July 14th, which makes me wonder if there is still a possibility of being able to attend. My only question is, would my final idea of a lab protocol/process video be eligible? As I did not really see anything regarding the specificity of how the data can be presented and explained.

We met on 06APR2023 and talked about using the Marine Botany group project as a summer research base for applying to the summer deadline! Marine Botany ends July 14th, the same date as the summer deadline! This timing is perfect, it will mean we can work on the abstract/application right when the class project at FHL is finished.
