After power up is the E-Ink display contrast to low. The problem is caused by the E-Ink display. Shortly after switching on, the display is still cold and has not yet reached the operating temperature. During this time, the contrast of the display is too low. After a few full updates of the display content, the contrast is correct again. The E-Ink display uses internal temperature compensation and adjusts the voltage for the static E-field to align the color beads. In the firmware, a full update of the display content is therefore made every minute for the first 5 minutes after a restart.
