Adding here to start keeping track of ideas for enhancements to the portal.

Allow storing photo collections in our data store and making metadata record discoverable. Also may furnish DOIs for these collections.

I'm not sure what Marisa had in mind here, but in principle I see no reason why this wouldn't work right now. For lack of details, I'm closing the issue.
