chair is basic shape to learn hand draw with pencil (perspective). And basic item to try modelling in 3D, as we learned. Pillow is basic item to draw/sculpt/colorize too, but non-perspective. We can do pillow with Sverchok, for sure, maybe chait is easier. but hole - it is case of NURBS surfaces. GOD, please, make OpenNurbs http://www.rhino3d.com/opennurbs to be fully integrated to Blender! And more NURBS tools, please.
That is true.
What interesting is the laser cutting. In 3D normally I do not have to think how it would be outputted as real objects. Only renders.
I wish I have that extra knowledge.

I think the Chair Design (parametric), is interesting, I will want to try to make using Sverchok.
@nortikin You made a table before using Sverchok, right? Similar. But I worry about where to put the hole, etc....
