I think this way won't break regular kind:1 clients. It is similar to using d tag but won't make chronological feeds see the edited note at the top at every edit.

I will exercise self-criticism and close this cause it adds too much complexity merging NIP-22 threads with regular kind:1/NIP-10 ones.

Kind:1 edits will never work very well cause it is dealing with a non-editable event (cause its referenced by e tag) behind the scenes.
