Blank Markdown File Icon #301

I noticed a while back that my markdown files icons had turned into a blank page as shown below. I didn't think much about it until I bought a new MacBook recently that I setup from a blank slate and noticed that the same thing happened after I set Nota as the default app to handle markdown file types.

Is it possible that the appearance of these blank icons may be related to setting Nota as the default app to handle markdown files types?
