I maintain a version of Machinist that supports later versions of Ruby & Rails. It's currently available as machinist_redux but that's a bit clunky.
If you are happy with my approach to maintaining your code then perhaps you could allow me access to the canonical gem?
I've no intention of adding new features, just continuing to support legacy projects that have a library of Machinist fixtures but have now upgraded past the originally supported Ruby & Rails versions.
