I haven't yet seen any mention of a Commons page in http://events.labs.crossref.org/events/types/WikipediaCitation , not even during periods when OAMI has uploaded stuff, e.g. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A-new-type-of-ant-decapitation-in-the-Phoridae-%28Insecta-Diptera%29-biodiversity_data_journal-3-e4299-g001.ogv .

Similarly, I haven't seen any traces of Wikidata, Wikispecies or Wikibooks, where DOIs are also used frequently.

I think I know why this might be. I'll double check.

Any news on that, @notconfusing ?

I thought it might be because of the way that I was translating a server URL into a pywikibot-friendly family-site tuple. Pywikibot wants to know which site your using like ('en', 'wikipedia') rather than en.wikipedia.org, but for wikidata we have to catch www.wikidata.org and return ('wikidata','wikidata'). i was doing that by string matching, but i think the format must have changed.

@difranco , in the file compare_change there is the make_family function https://github.com/notconfusing/cocytus/blob/master/compare_change.py#L54 , perhaps you can check that the family is being correctly made, look at sample output of what's going into compare_change from those sites.
