Noto Sans Khmer appears Black on latest browsers on Android #29

We've been experiencing Khmer text displayed in the Black weight on Chrome (version 126+) and Firefox (version 127) web browsers. I've asked a few friends to test on their devices (Pixel 7a, HMD, Reelme, Samsung) and they have the same issues. Chrome browser version 117 displayed just fine. So I'm not sure if it's Android's WebView issues, font build bugs, or browsers' issues.

OK, yes, it looks like this is a bad font on the current device image. I'll update the Android bug.

@simoncozens Thanks, Simon. It looks like the font variation data has been incorrectly read or something else.
