○ not thick enough? #259

Closed curya closed 1 year ago

curya commented 1 year ago

Font

Noto Sans CJK 2.004 Noto Serif CJK 2.002

Where the font came from, and when

https://github.com/notofonts/noto-cjk/releases

OS name and version

Windows 10

Issue

It seems that ○ barely changes between different weights. Considering that ○ and ✓ are used extensively in the region, this seems pretty important.

  1. Type ○
  2. Change weight
  3. Observe the lack of thickness

Not all glyphs need to have so much difference in the weights and this is one of them so there's nothing that needs to be changed here.

curya commented 1 year ago

@punchcutter It seems that at least for the serif version the circle actually gets smaller and thinner in the black weight... Is that not an issue?

punchcutter commented 1 year ago

In the current Serif fonts the glyph is identical in both weights.

Looks smaller in my screenshot. But either way, that seems to be a bug...
