However I have a few bug with uTox : I'm using "uTox version: 0.9.7, git version" (I'm using debian), and a friend of mine is using "uTox version: 0.10.1 git version" (she is on xubuntu). For me, I'm connected in a few seconds, but for my friend she can wait something like 40s to be connected (the little green dot appears), and again a few seconds to show me connected (but the second part is shorter).
