I don't know much about them.. hopefully this info is posted with the FadeCandies
So a thread I found estimated fadecandy power draw at 100 mA hours each.
Standard USB outputs 500mA but it can go higher if the device asks for more. (Your iPhone does this but only when's it's running!)

Chaining USB hubs should work, but less chaining the better. The USB spec says you can't chain more than 5. (Also a USB cable can't be more than 5m long...so don't go crazy with extension cables)
