USB hubs #5

So a thread I found estimated fadecandy power draw at 100 mA hours each.

Standard USB outputs 500mA but it can go higher if the device asks for more. (Your iPhone does this but only when's it's running!)

That said, I think you should just use powered USB hubs so you can be sure the fadecandies always have enough juice. This is the one I got for a recent project: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00K8AB1MI/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1403126633&sr=8-2

Chaining USB hubs should work, but less chaining the better. The USB spec says you can't chain more than 5. (Also a USB cable can't be more than 5m long...so don't go crazy with extension cables)
